John Mayer is still pining for on/off girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, his ex claims.

Scheana Marie Jancan, who dated the musician after his most recent break-up with the actress, said he was ‘devastated’ about the split.

She told Heat magazine: ‘He really didn’t think Jen would dump him – it was a complete shock to him.

‘He’s never really got over it and he still talks about her a lot. He’s been playing guitar alone at night, pining over her.’

The 24-year-old model and budding actress first met John when he was still dating the former Friends star.

She met him again in April at the restaurant where she works.

Both going through break-ups at the same time, she said they ‘just chatted and started hanging out’, and described him as ‘a great guy, funny and sweet’.

Despite John’s heartbreak over Jennifer, Scheana admitted that he had been ‘dating various girls’, including her, in a bid to make himself feel better.

According to reports, friends of Jennifer say John’s behaviour has strengthened her view that it was right for their relationship to end.

The actress, who is soon to star opposite Woody Harrelson in movie Management, has reportedly grown close to ex-husband Brad Pitt again.

According to Grazia magazine, the pair have been meeting secretly in New York, with Brad wearing his motorbike helmet as a disguise.

The former couple are said to speak to each other almost every day as Brad leans on Jennifer for support amid speculation that his relationship with Angelina Jolie is in trouble.

A source told Grazia: ‘It sounds crazy given their history, but I think Jen just wants to be a good friend to Brad right now. He’s in bits and she wants to help.’

Last month it emerged that the former Friends actress had split with musician John.

Jennifer Aniston is pulling double duty in the comedy The Baster, now shooting in New York. She’s executive-producing and starring in the film, about a woman whose best friend (Jason Bateman) secretly fathers her child when he swaps her intended artificial insemination sample with his own.

The shoot has been anything but easy for the actress. “We’ve been on nights, so physically it’s been challenging,” she says. “I went to bed at 8′o’clock Saturday morning. It just takes you a little while to get your body back. I’m just exhausted.”

The film is directed by Blades of Glory’s Josh Gordon and Will Speck and is slated for release next year. It puts the actress back in familiar romantic-comedy territory; she last starred in the weeper Marley & Me and relationship dramedy He’s Just Not That Into You.

She has a couple of weeks of filming left for Baster. “It has had its challenges,” she says, “just getting the script ready.”
