Doing their part for charity, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden started off the New Year with a party for the kids from Beyond Shelter on Saturday afternoon (January 3).

Making for quite the memorable experience, the group visited Magic Mountain in Valencia – with the former “Simple Life” starlet and her Good Charlotte rocker beau riding the roller coasters and posing for pictures.
