With the release of her sixth studio album Circus only three weeks away, Britney Spears is working on a “top secret project” with her manager and choreographer.

The pop star, 26, released four exclusive photos on her new celebrity MySpace page of auditions for male dancers for the new project “in anticipation of next month’s Circus.”

The new page launched Monday and features pictures from Spears’ wins at this year’s Video Music Awards and a video of the director’s cut her Circus single “Womanizer.”

Something Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears must have learned in the Mickey Mouse Club: compassion.

“I don’t pass any judgment on what she does,” Aguilera tells Britain’s Daily Mail. “I always wish her all the best.”

Aguilera, 28, dismissed suggestions the two pop divas were rivals.

“When we both started releasing records,” she says, “it must have seemed as if we were competing with each other, but, in reality, Britney is someone that I used to hold hands with.”

The pair started out together on The Mickey Mouse Club, along with fellow Mouseketeer and future Spears boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

“We were silly little girls together on The Mickey Mouse Club,” Aguilera said of the duo’s common showbiz apprenticeship on on the Disney Channel. “What a journey it has been for both of us!” Read more…

Britney Spears is prepared to go to trial in her misdemeanor driving-without-license case after rejecting a plea offer of a year’s probation and a $150 fine, her lawyer said Wednesday.

The pop singer, 26, was being targeted because she’s a celebrity and doesn’t deserve even a minor criminal conviction on her record, lawyer J. Michael Flanagan said during a Los Angeles court hearing. He said he would instead consider an infraction for Spears and a lesser fine.

Her trial is set for Oct. 15 in Van Nuys.

An appeals court on Tuesday rejected Spears’s efforts to dismiss the misdemeanor charge and put the case put on hold. Flanagan had said in court papers that Spears, whose personal affairs are controlled by a conservatorship led by her father, was “`currently unable to participate meaningfully” in the traffic case.
