Yesterday Nicole Scherzinger played the doting girlfriend as she watched her toyboy take to the race circuit at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton is used to living his life in the fast lane and rubbing shoulders with A-list celebrities.

So the Formula 1 ace was in his element when he and his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger enjoyed the company of Britney Spears’ former husband Kevin Federline on Thursday night.

The couple and wannabe rapper Federline socialised with friends at the launch of EA Sports’ new American football computer game Madden NFL 09 at the STK nightclub in West Hollywood, California.

And the group was only too happy to ham it up for the cameras as hip-hop Hamilton revved up a hand sign or two.

Also at the event were Austin Powers star Verne Troyer, Playboy boss Hugh Hefner and reality TV star Lauren Conrad.

Lewis Hamilton may be in the running to win this year’s Formula 1 championship, but the race to keep his love life on track is proving a tougher challenge.

The 23-year-old F1 ace and his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger are cooling their relationship in order to concentrate on their respective careers.

‘I am returning to the States to work on my new single and album,’ said Nicole, 30, at the Cartier Style et Luxe concours at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

British Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton’s burgeoning romance with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is continuing at lightning speed as the couple stepped out together at a racing event yesterday.

Despite a brief return to her native America to celebrate her 30th birthday in Las Vegas two weeks ago, Scherzinger rushed back to Europe to be with Hamilton following his Grand Prix win at Silverstone.

The pop star joined Hamilton, 23, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, where the
racing ace showed off his driving skills on the hill climb circuit.

The couple were joined at the event by Billy Connolly, Chris Evans, Bryan Ferry and his girlfriend Katie Turner.

Despite being first linked last November after they were spotted getting cosy at the MTV Music Video Awards in Munich, Germany, Hamilton went on to start dating Miss Grenada Vivian Burkhardt.

Just days after parading Burkhardt at premieres and parties at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Hamilton did an apparent U-turn and switched his attentions to the Pussycat Dolls frontwoman, who joined the driver at the Monaco Grand Prix.

A devastated Burkhardt, who flew back to Grenada following her trip to Cannes, told the News Of The World: ‘After we were pictured arm in arm at Cannes, suddenly the whole world knew me as Lewis’s girlfriend.

‘But days after Lewis got into bed with me, he was pictured cosying up to Nicole in Monaco. I was very disappointed. I thought he could have shown me a little more respect.

‘It looked like he was playing me. And I felt the world was laughing at me. He called me soon after and has been in touch almost every day since but I don’t even want to talk to him about it.’

In May, Scherzinger was reported to have told friends they had been dating ‘on and off for three months’.

Last month, they arrived together at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday bash in London’s Hyde Park, where they mingled with A-list stars including Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Uma Thurman and Sir Elton John.

Things are going so well with Scherzinger, Hamilton has already introduced her to his father Anthony, stepmother Linda and half-brother Nicholas.

Lewis Hamilton has vowed to keep girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger away from his vehicles.

The Pussycat Dolls star is keen to get behind the wheel of one his supercars.

But Formula 1 ace Lewis, 23, fears Nicole, 29, won’t be able to handle the zippy motors.

‘She insists she’s a perfectly good driver and could easily get behind the wheel, but Lewis disagrees,’ a source tells the Daily Star.

‘Some of the cars have got breathtaking acceleration and he’s worried for Nicole’s safety as much as anything.

‘Although he wouldn’t relish telling his boss that his car’s been wrapped around a tree.’

Lewis’s prized car is a £100,000 Mercedes SL55 AMG.

Well, well, has a certain bloke been revving Nicole Scherzinger’s engine?

Seems the lad we’re talking about wasn’t only in pole position on the race track this weekend.

And it’s not a huge surprise to us, as we heard some similar rumours a while back.

Now reports say Formule One ace Lewis Hamilton may, once again, have a certain kitty in his life.

That’s right, the Daily Mirror claim Lewis and Nicole may be finally emerging as a bona fide coupling.

They say Nic even met Lewis’ family at the Monaco Grand Prix (which, in case you were watching re-runs of Gossip Girl, Lewis won by the way) and that the pair were reportedly looking v friendly in Monaco’s Amber Lounge after Lewis’ big win.

The paper says Nicole told a pal: “We’ve been seeing each other on andLewis Hamilton off for three months.”

This isn’t the first time reports of a romance between the pair have blossomed either. Following the MTV Awards in Munich last November there were romance talks doing the rounds.

Now, a source has told the Daily Mirror: “Lewis and Nicole spent time with his family to celebrate, then snuck off to the Amber Lounge.

“It wasn’t long before everyone in the club was patting him on the back and congratulating him on his win. But Lewis only had eyes for Nicole - he couldn’t keep his hands off her.

“They were kissing as if no one else was watching.”
